Disinhibitation and Desensitisation

Just watched Batman: The Dark Knight this afternoon. I felt like I was watching a tamer Saw movie. Nowadays, even movies adapted from comics contains gore and violence. Killings, bombings, tortures in almost every action movies.

Do we really want this? Are audience now asking for more? Have we been disinhibited and desensitised? What will the effects on our children? Do parents still bring their children to all movies without considering the violent content?

A photo album for SMSOnians

Majlis Ilmu or Knowledge Convention is held annually, in conjuction with HM's Birthday Celebration.

This year, the theme is "Negara Zikir" - Negara Zikir ialah negara yang bangsa dan masyarakatnya sentiasa ingat Tuhan dalam berfikir dan bertindak yang misinya untuk menjadi umat terbaik yang disebut di dalam Al-Quran, Surah Ali Imran, Ayat 110, iaitu umat dilahirkan bagi menyuruh berbuat kebaikan dan melarang daripada kejahatan.

Even though I am not an Ugama teacher, as a Head of Career, I was the one who organised the visit there. It was good as I didnt have to wake up early to go to school in Tutong, as the venue was in ICC, a 5-min drive from my house. I was also the photographer for this trip.

I have realised that it was a bit difficult to put all the photos here in this blog. And not everyone has facebook account to view the pics there. So I have uploaded all the photos (past, present and future) involving SMSONians to

Missing a part of My Life

Remember when Capital Radio was first on air?
I was quite surprised when I first heard it in my car radio on 100.1FM. I couldn't believe it at first that the radio station that I listened to so much while I was in the UK, was broadcasting through the radio here in Brunei. I basically live through my life in the UK with Capital Radio.
It was quite weird as they were broadcasting the traffic jam on M25, while I was driving on Muara-Tutong Highway. lol
Capital Radio was with us here in Brunei from 1996 to 2005. With its presence, our own local stations have becoming more innovative too.
Now, my favourite station is Rangkaian Pilihan on 95.9Fm or 96.9FM. Once in a while I listen to Capital Radio online. It has been a part of my life........
